The Law Firm of Azar & Azar, L.L.C. was voted runner up in the Montgomery Advertiser Reader's Choice awards for 2003. The firm shared the runner up honors with the law firm of Rushton Stakely Johnston & Garrett while the firm of Beasley Allen Crow Methvin Portis & Miles was first.

GEORGE B. AZAR APPOINTED MEMBER OF ALABAMA ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL BOARD

(March 16, 2004)

George B. Azar has been appointed by Alabama Governor Bob Riley, to be a member of the Alabama ABC Board. Mr. Azar was appointed September 18, 2003, to the ABC Board; however, the Alabama Senate did not act on the appointment prior to its recess and the appointment became an interim appointment.

Governor Riley resubmitted George B. Azar's name on January 20, 2004, to the Alabama Senate for confirmation as a member of the ABC board.

On March 16, 2004, the Alabama Senate acted upon this appointment and confirmed George B. Azar as a member of the Alabama ABC Board. The term will expire on March 16, 2005.

Ed Azar, senior member of the firm, previously served under Governor John Patterson as administrator of the Alabama ABC Board for a period of four years.
